Journey

The shore at Vatomandry: wet sand in the foreground, waves breaking, and low rocky islets on the horizon under a clear sky.

Born here, on the east coast. Left in 2016 for university in Antananarivo. Back at least once a year since.

Antananarivo seen from above: a lake with a monument at its centre, a stadium at lower left, and dense housing spreading to the hills under an overcast sky.

I studied here. Everything I’ve built since has been from this city, including for clients and teams abroad. I’ve been teaching data engineering and analytics at HEI since 2023, four cohorts so far, over 450 students.

Spoke at the Youth Plenary about Marina ve?, a project I run on questioning public numbers. Opened with a question: 80% of young people in Madagascar are unemployed. Is that true? Not because I had the answer, but because we hear numbers like this every day and rarely stop to ask.

I travel when I can. Mostly to look at things I don’t understand.

The beach at Mahajanga: pale sand, two people standing in shallow blue water, and a low headland with a sailing boat on the horizon.
